Perfect Binder Operator

JOB SUMMARY:

Set up, operate, and maintain Perfect Binder. This includes high volume production of books, manuals, pamphlets, and brochures.

JOB TASKS:

  • Manual and automatic set up of Perfect Binder according to height, width, and thickness
  • Gather and collate multiple pages and/or signatures for infeed
  • Ensure quick and timely set up
  • Be knowledgeable and able to operate Commander Control System
  • Operate and adjust milling and spine preparation station
  • Operate and adjust side and spine, gluing units
  • Operate and adjust control module for each individual station
  • Operate and adjust three knife trimmer
  • Inspect and evaluate reject sheets, signatures, and/or waste
  • Operate and adjust delivery and laydown area
  • Assist and supervise trimmer operator, cover feeder, and other operators
  • Educate and assist other area workers of any and all other functions of the Perfect Binder
